The Scripture House collects only the personal information needed to make and deliver your order, and handles it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
The Scripture House runs thescripturehouse.com.
What we collect
- Contact and delivery details: name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- Order details: what you bought, sizes, and the text, verses, names or images you give us for custom prints.
- Proof contact: the WhatsApp number you give us for sending your proof.
- Payment: payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Browsing data: device, browser and pages visited, collected through cookies to keep the store working and to understand how it is used.
Why we use it
- To make, proof, ship and support your order
- To contact you about your order, including proofs and delivery updates
- To send newsletters or offers, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To keep the store secure and improve it
Your custom prints
The prayers, verses and photos you send for custom prints are used only to design and print your order. We do not share or reuse them, and we do not show them as examples without your permission.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the store:
- Shopify, which hosts our store
Some of these providers store data outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA. We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, usually five years. Custom print files and proof photos are deleted [12 months] after your order is delivered, unless you ask us to keep them for a reorder.
Keeping it safe
Your information is stored on secure, password-protected systems, and only people who need it to fulfil your order can access it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- correct or update it
- delete it, where we are not required by law to keep it
- stop sending you marketing

Cookies
